Working online in Panama

Boldly Panama was created because there’s a lot of information out there on Panama, but not all of it is transparent or up-to-date.

That’s why we created a living library of premium articles, videos, and webinars for people interested in moving to or investing in Panama, as well as free content for those just getting started.

After 30 combined years of living in and researching Panama, the team behind Boldly Panama has helped hundreds of expats, retirees, and investors carve out their unique Panama journey, saving thousands of dollars and countless hours of frustration along the way.

How It All Began

Boldly Panama is the vision of two very different individuals, Liz Larroquette and Greta Sherman. Different, but better together.

Greta met Liz when she first landed in Panama in 2013 doing boots-on-the-ground research about retiring to the strong expat beach community of Coronado. After examining properties and lifestyles from Casco Viejo to Bocas del Toro, Greta purchased a condominium and moved to the 30th floor of a high-rise building overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

A few months later, Greta and Liz were featured on House Hunters International documenting Greta’s move to Panama. The episode was one of the highest-rated for House Hunters!

Greta Sherman

As a retired executive from a New York advertising agency, Greta put her researching skills to good use and began producing information for other expats looking to retire to Panama. Eventually, everyone knew if they had a question about Panama, Greta probably had the answer.

“It’s sort of Panama, Panama, Panama all the time, but I know I’ve saved people thousands of dollars and countless hours of frustration by documenting everything from how to watch US television in Panama to just how low you can go and still get a deal on an ocean-facing condo rental.”

Having spent the last seven years guiding people through their Panama retirement or relocation options, Greta is a wealth of information on all the little (and big) things that come with living and investing in Panama. True to her Louisville, Kentucky roots, Greta is a cut-the-BS and give-it-to-you-straight kind of woman, with a quick wit and a kind heart.

Liz Larroquette

Liz has lived in Panama for fifteen years and is one of the country’s top-rated experts in real estate. She manages everything from finding the right property for a retiring expat couple to high-end investment deals. Liz has published over 300 blog posts on Panama, and hosts our video interviews with various Panama experts and professionals.

“I’ve just been lucky to work with so many amazing people,” said Liz as she squinted into the Panama sun. “Americans who are planning ahead for retirement. Young European families looking to give their children a global experience. Always a few Canadians escaping their brutal winters,” she chuckles, “What’s fascinating is how Panama has so much to offer people from all walks of life.”

In addition to being a recognized authority on Panama real estate, Liz is known for her exuberant and bubbly personality. There is no not-smiling with Liz around! If you’ve never heard an Australian speak perfect Spanish before, you are in for an interesting accent.
